I am a Full-Stack Web Developer who is very interested in learning new and challenging technologies that will build the Web of the future. I am currently versed in JavaScript, Angular, HTML/CSS, Node, relational databases (PostgreSQL), BootStrap, RESTful API's & GitHub. I have also worked with JQuery, React, Gulp & Sass.

Personal Details

I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan as a child. My father was involved in the automobile industry as I grew up and the resulting interest in cars turned into a passion for computing. Looking for a mid-life career change, I began looking into industries concerning computing and that intersection led me to become a web developer and now my passion has become my career!

Family

I am fortunate enough to be surrounded by friends and family who support me and allow me to grow so I am passionate about them. I am a husband and father and though this may bring its own set of unique challenges, their support is paramount to my success. This support system allows me to pursue my professional passions and goals with vigor and a loyalty that cannot be overlooked!

SneakerBase

SneakerBase is an original interactive site that I created to manage and maintain my sneaker collection. It features a connection to Google Calendar to make notes on which shoes were worn by date. This project was challenging because it represents a huge passion of mine and therefore it was imperative to get it right. There is no existing sneaker API to call for the data for all 235+ shoes in my collection. This required scouring the Internet to compile the data for this project and then curating the gathered information into my database for each individual shoe.

To say the least, it was huge and daunting undertaking to collect all of the necessary information but the end result displays my passion in a very unique and exciting manner! The site is open to others to create and curate their own sneaker collections to form a community of Sneakerheads just like myself to share and manage their collections as well. It is a work in progress so there is still much to accomplish but as the product of an idea that started with a blank screen, I am very proud of what I have accomplished and of the final - but still unfinished - product!
